Job Description

We are looking for two outstanding Electrical Assembly Technicians to join a team based in Peterborough, working from a large-scale chemical regeneration and service centre.

Salary Range is £30,000 to £42,000 per annum 
Holidays - 26 days plus 8 Bank Holidays
Pension - after 3 months at 5% EE & 10% ER
Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday

This is an important role and the successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical builds of water treatment equipment, keeping projects to time schedule and budget, and utilising a combination of knowledge and experience to trouble shoot and rectify errors found in technical drawings, providing feedback for remedial works. 

To carry out this role it will be essential that you hold a minimum:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent

Highly desirable qualifications are:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • NVQ3 in electrical based units
  • City and Guilds 2391 - Electrical testing and inspection

You will also have at least 3 years working experience in the electrical arena.

You will need to be familiar with and have the following experience:

  • Substantial experience in the fabrication, installation, and documentation of cables, trays, and rack assemblies
  • In-depth knowledge of single-phase, three-phase, high-voltage, and low-voltage electrical circuits
  • Remarkable knowledge of using hand and power tools, automated assembly machines, measuring instruments, and test equipment
  • Familiarity with preparation, soldering, and termination of wire cable harnesses
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and electronic schematics
  • Ability to complete client-specific orders and special projects, on time
  • Troubleshooting electrical instrumentation and mechanical equipment and presenting technical solutions to address these issues.
  • Pro actively predict problems in conjunction with a programmable logic controller (PLC) to process operations and communicate with the manufacturing and maintenance team to prevent their potential impact on the equipment.
  • Programming of instrumentation to relay information to a central HMI and testing analog inputs and outputs to ensure accurate calibration.
  • Configuration of equipment for all applications using PLC interfaces (GE Fanuc, Allan Bradley, Siemens)
  • Commissioning of special build water treatment equipment, electrically and mechanically.
  • Worked with water filtration methods and chemical dosing techniques such as pump performance assurance, and instrumentation compliance (pH monitors, flow sensors, HMI panels, and PLC) to ensure regulatory requirements and customer service expectations.
  • Maintaining the quality of all the products, performing incoming and outgoing quality control tests, inspections, and repair of all plant and field equipment.
  • Treatment of waste water, complying with environmental and safety regulations with a high level of EHS and Quality awareness
  • H&S activities + compliance calendar tasks
  • Periodic live working at 400V
  • Ability to functionally test PLC and HMI codes, fix and report issues found
  • Experience in electrical inspection and testing (EIC, EICR and PAT)

You will be computer literate and familiar with the MS Office packages
And previously worked in an industrial area - assembly or other operational role
Proven record of EHS and Quality Awareness.
Ideally you will have Water Treatment Industry experience
